From payne to missouri

From Payne to Missouri” started as a script writing project about two enemies in 1870 traveling from Payne Ohio to Missouri to have a lawful duel. I was inspired by the story of Abraham Lincolns attempted duel with James Shields which had to be held in Missouri for it to be legal. From Payne to Missouri is a story about two rural farmers that in the heat of the moment get conned into a duel by a manipulative outlaw learning along the way that revenge is extremely costly.

The project below is an illustrated script with key story beats illustrated directly onto the script. This serves as a proof of concept to turn “From Payne to Missouri” into a full graphic novel.
